Israeli Lawyer Arrested for Allegedly Coaching Minors to Give False Testimony in Terror Case

The Central District Unit of the Israeli Police arrested a lawyer from central Israel and four other suspects on Tuesday, following a covert investigation into allegations that they attempted to coach minors to provide false testimony in a security-related criminal case. The lawyer represents a defendant charged in January 2026 with serious security offenses including terrorism, shooting, arson, and weapons manufacturing in Ramla. While the trial is ongoing at the Central District Court and the defendant remains in custody, the lawyer approached police investigators in May claiming to have evidence that could exonerate her client. However, police grew suspicious about the origin, timing, and manner in which the evidence was presented, prompting a secret investigation.

The probe revealed that the lawyer, along with family members of the defendant, allegedly tried to persuade several minors and their parents to testify falsely that the defendant was with them during the commission of the crimes, thereby providing an alibi. The suspects reportedly offered money to the minors and, in some cases, pressured or threatened them to comply. Once the investigation became public, police arrested the lawyer, in her 30s, and four relatives of the defendant, all residents of Ramla. The suspects are expected to be brought before the Rishon LeZion Magistrate’s Court for a remand hearing on Wednesday, where police will seek to extend their detention.
