Two-Year-Old Boy Drowns in Private Pool Near Beit Shemesh, Condition Critical
A two-year-old boy drowned in a pool at a guesthouse in Sdot Micha, near Beit Shemesh. Emergency medical teams arrived promptly and performed resuscitation efforts before airlifting him to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital, where his condition is described as critical.
Rescuers from United Hatzalah's Koach Hatzalah unit, including Issachar Yakobzon, Mordechai Friedman, and Itzik Fox, reported that the child was pulled from the pool unconscious. They immediately began life-saving procedures at the scene.
Magen David Adom paramedics Rafael Tolidano, Eliya Binyamin, and Ari Rabinovitch also responded quickly, finding the boy unresponsive without pulse or breathing. They administered advanced resuscitation including chest compressions, ventilations, and medication before transferring him by helicopter to the hospital.
United Hatzalah’s mental health support unit, Chosen, provided assistance to the family due to the traumatic nature of the incident. The medical teams continue to fight for the child's life as he remains in critical condition.
