Tamir Blatt Officially Signs Three-Year Deal with Hapoel Tel Aviv Basketball

Tamir Blatt has officially signed a three-year contract with Hapoel Tel Aviv, marking one of the biggest moves in Israeli basketball this summer. The 29-year-old guard, who spent the last three seasons with Maccabi Tel Aviv, returns to the club where he began his professional career over a decade ago. Despite signing the contract, Blatt is expected to be loaned to another team for the upcoming season.

The contract details include an annual earning of $1.6 million, split between $1.1 million in salary and $500,000 in shares. The signing process faced delays due to internal disagreements within Hapoel Tel Aviv regarding Blatt's role, but these issues have since been resolved. Blatt's return to Hapoel Tel Aviv follows a career that included stints at Hapoel Holon, Hapoel Jerusalem, and Alba Berlin, where he first played in the EuroLeague.

In the previous season, Blatt averaged 7.1 points and 5.2 assists in 19.5 minutes per game in the EuroLeague, while in the Israeli Premier League he contributed 9.6 points, 1.5 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game, shooting 40.7% on two-pointers and 39.3% on three-pointers. Blatt initially joined Hapoel Tel Aviv's senior team in 2014 at age 17 after progressing through the Israeli Basketball Association academy.
