Hapoel Tel Aviv Signs Tamir Blatt but Plans Season Loan in Europe

Hapoel Tel Aviv announced on Monday the signing of guard Tamir Blatt to a three-year contract worth $1.6 million per season, including part of the payment in shares. Despite the official signing, it appears Blatt will be loaned out for the upcoming season to a European team, as his Serbian agent, Miško Raznatović, seeks suitable offers. Blatt has attracted interest from two EuroCup teams based in Rome but prefers to explore EuroLeague options first, particularly monitoring developments with Villeurbanne, which has recently released several players due to financial difficulties.

Hapoel offered Blatt's representatives the option to participate in preseason training with the team, but Blatt declined, aiming to join a new club for full preseason preparation. The club's management intends to reintegrate Blatt into Hapoel's roster after the next season, as many of the current backcourt players' contracts expire then. This strategy suggests a plan for Blatt to start fresh elsewhere for one season before returning to Hapoel Tel Aviv.
