The story · English

Volunteers from the Arava Rescue Unit were mobilized on Monday to search Nahal Gov in the Arava region after a father and his six children went missing during a hike. The family left the city of Ovot at 8:00 a.m., equipped with water, hats, and hiking shoes. At 9:30 a.m., they sent a message to the mother, who did not join the hike, confirming they had started the trail. Two hours later, at 11:30 a.m., they sent another message stating they were exhausted from the intense heat and hoped to finish the route within half an hour. Since then, all contact has been lost, prompting the mother to alert the rescue unit.

Following the report, rescue teams led by Mehtzava and Idan rushed to Nahal Gov. The search operation is planned to split into two groups, with one team starting from the upper part of the canyon and the other from the lower end, in an effort to locate the missing family members as quickly as possible.
