Search Underway for Father and Six Children Missing in Arava's Nahal Gov Hike

Rescue teams from the Arava Rescue Unit are searching for a father and his six children after losing contact with them during a hike in Nahal Gov, located in the Arava region south of the Dead Sea. The family began their hike around 9:30 AM, departing from Ir Ovot, also known as "New Ein Hatzeva," in northern Arava. Approximately two hours later, at 11:30 AM, the family contacted the mother to report exhaustion due to the intense heat. Since that call, all communication has been lost.

The rescue operation is ongoing, with teams conducting searches simultaneously at two locations: the upper part of the stream and its lower side. The search efforts aim to locate the father and his six children amid challenging conditions caused by the region's heavy heat. Authorities continue their efforts to find the family and ensure their safety.
