Rescue Team Searches for Father and Six Children Missing in Nahal Gov Amid Heat Exhaustion

By קובי רוזן
Translated & summarized from Kikar HaShabbat by baba
The story · English

Volunteers from the Arava Rescue Unit were urgently dispatched to Nahal Gov to locate and rescue a father and his six children, aged 9 to 19, who lost contact after reporting exhaustion from extreme heat. The family left Ovot city at 8:00 a.m., equipped with water, hats, and hiking shoes. They sent a message to the mother at 9:30 a.m. indicating they had started their hike. At 11:30 a.m., they messaged again, saying they were exhausted due to the heavy heat and hoped to finish the trail within half an hour. Since then, all contact has been lost, prompting the mother to alert the rescue unit.

The rescue team split into two groups: one began searching from the upper part of the stream, and the other from the lower part. The search is ongoing as the family remains missing in the harsh conditions of Nahal Gov.
