16-Year-Old from Beitar Illit Charged with Assaulting Palestinian Woman and Abusing Dog in South Hebron Hills

A 16-year-old boy from Beitar Illit is facing charges for assaulting an elderly Palestinian woman and brutally abusing a dog in the South Hebron Hills in May. The suspect was recorded attacking the woman and then cruelly mistreating the dog using a long plastic pipe-like object. He was arrested last Wednesday near Sde Boker. His parents were also questioned on suspicion of obstructing the investigation. The police are expected to request an extension of his detention today to allow the Southern District Prosecutor's Office to prepare and file the indictment.
