Israeli Teen from Beitar Ilit Charged with Racist Attacks and Animal Abuse in South Hebron Hills

The State Prosecutor's Office has filed charges against a 16-year-old minor from Beitar Ilit at the Beersheba Juvenile District Court. The indictment accuses him of racially motivated threats and assaults, as well as animal abuse. The charges were submitted by attorney Masad Masad from the Southern District Prosecutor's Office, alongside a request to detain the minor until the conclusion of legal proceedings.

According to the indictment, on multiple occasions the minor entered the residential compound of complainants in the South Hebron Hills area. He reportedly carried a metal rod, instilling fear by telling the residents, who are Arab, that the land was not theirs and that they should leave. About two months ago, the minor allegedly arrived on a donkey, entered the compound, pushed one of the complainants, knowing that a minor holding her could be harmed, and threatened others present.

Additionally, after leaving the compound, the minor noticed a dog belonging to the complainants tied in the yard. He allegedly tried to strike the dog forcefully with a pipe around its head and upper body. On one occasion, the pipe hit the dog's head, causing it to fall and yelp in pain. The indictment charges the minor with racially motivated simple assault, racially motivated threats, attempted harm to an animal with nationalist motives, and animal cruelty.
