Daniel Theis Agrees to Two-Year Deal with Maccabi Tel Aviv Basketball

Daniel Theis has reached an agreement to join Maccabi Tel Aviv on a two-year contract worth $2.2 million per season. The center, currently signed with Villeurbanne, is awaiting an official release from the French club due to their financial difficulties before finalizing the move. Maccabi Tel Aviv has offered Theis the starting center position, aiming to strengthen their roster amid the availability of high-profile free agents in the EuroLeague market.

This will be Theis's third EuroLeague team after stints with Bamberg and Monaco. He spent nearly a decade in the NBA before moving to Europe, where he played the last season and a half with Monaco, averaging 9.7 points per game on 69.2% shooting and 5 rebounds, including 1.7 offensive rebounds. Notably, he scored a season-high 17 points in a regular-season game against Maccabi Tel Aviv. The Israeli club is now awaiting the formal release from Villeurbanne to complete the signing.
