Daniel Theis Agrees to Two-Year Deal with Maccabi Tel Aviv Basketball

Daniel Theis has reached an agreement to join Maccabi Tel Aviv on a two-year contract worth $2.2 million per season, pending his official release from Villeurbanne. The center signed with Villeurbanne last summer but is expected to leave due to the club's financial difficulties. Maccabi Tel Aviv has offered Theis a starting center position and is finalizing the deal as other EuroLeague teams have freed up roster spots by releasing high-profile players.

Theis will be joining Maccabi Tel Aviv for his third EuroLeague team after stints with Bamberg and Monaco. He spent nearly a decade playing in the NBA before moving to Europe, where he played the last season and a half with Monaco. This past season, Theis averaged 9.7 points per game on 69.2% shooting, along with 5 rebounds per game, including 1.7 offensive rebounds. His season-high was 17 points in a regular-season game against Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Maccabi Tel Aviv is awaiting Villeurbanne's official clearance to complete the signing, aiming to strengthen their roster amid the evolving EuroLeague market.
