Police Extend Detention of Eldar Dayan's Friends Over Suspected Crime Involvement

The detention of two friends of Eldar Dayan, a 23-year-old from Dimona, was extended by three days as they face suspicions of obstructing a police investigation and conspiracy to commit a crime. Authorities believe the three were involved in a criminal incident in central Israel. During their interrogation, the two suspects chose to remain silent.

Dayan disappeared after going out with his two friends near Park HaYarkon on July 17. The following day, the trio was seen near Petah Tikva, and later their vehicle was found at a gas station in the city with a shattered window and bloodstains inside. Witnesses reported that several individuals exited the car, removed its license plate, and fled.

The two friends gave conflicting accounts during questioning. One claimed they were attacked by a group of Eritreans near Park HaYarkon and that they split up after fleeing to the gas station. The other denied involvement. Due to these contradictions, both were arrested and their detention extended by six days.

Police obtained footage showing Dayan driving the car to the gas station before the three left and fled in different directions. Authorities believe Dayan is alive and wanted for questioning in connection with the case. The search for him continues.
