Israeli Police Seek 7-Day Detention Extension for Eldar Dayan's Friends in Criminal Case

Israeli police announced they will request a seven-day extension to detain two friends of Eldar Dayan, who are suspected of obstructing justice and conspiracy to commit a crime. Authorities believe the three were involved in a criminal incident in central Israel and require additional investigation to clarify the circumstances.

Eldar Dayan, 23, from Dimona, went missing after going out with two friends near Park HaYarkon on July 17. The next day, the trio was seen in Petah Tikva, where their car was later found at a gas station with a shattered window and blood inside. Witnesses reported that several individuals exited the vehicle, removed its license plate, and fled the scene.

During police questioning, the two friends gave conflicting accounts: one claimed they were attacked by a group of Eritreans near Park HaYarkon and then separated at the gas station, while the other denied involvement. Due to these inconsistencies, both were arrested and their detention extended by six days.

Police also obtained footage showing Dayan driving the car to the gas station before the three fled in different directions. Authorities believe Dayan is alive and wanted for questioning. The search for him continues.
