Israeli Police Seek Extended Detention of Two Suspects in Eldar Dayan Death Case

Israeli police are requesting a seven-day extension of the detention of Omri Peretz and Maxim Broverman, friends of the late Eldar Dayan, as part of the ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding Dayan's death. Both suspects have been held since their arrest on suspicion of involvement in the case. This latest request follows several previous detention extensions since late July, with police citing ongoing investigative actions and evidence collection that could be compromised if the suspects were released.

In addition to Peretz and Broverman, four other suspects were recently re-arrested and remain in custody on suspicion of causing serious injury to Dayan. These four had been questioned earlier regarding a fight preceding Dayan's disappearance but were not detained at that time. The police continue to examine the sequence of events leading up to Dayan's disappearance and death, including discrepancies between suspects' accounts and physical evidence.

Broverman, who previously worked in delivery and painting, identified a location where he claimed to have parted ways with Dayan, but this does not match the site where Dayan's body was later found. Surveillance footage also shows the suspects with Dayan near the time he went missing. Currently, six suspects are held in connection with the case as investigators work to clarify each individual's role and the full circumstances that led to Dayan's death.
