IDF Disciplines Givati Brigade Soldiers for Desertion and Abandoning Weapons
Brigade Commander Colonel Natanel Shamka sentenced Givati Brigade soldiers who deserted the Sde Teyman base and abandoned their weapons. Some soldiers received 30-day military prison sentences, with 14 being discharged from combat roles. Approximately 80 other soldiers who left the base but returned will undergo a disciplinary and educational process this coming Saturday alongside their commanders to reinforce IDF discipline, values, and norms. Additionally, two leading soldiers involved in the incident turned themselves in overnight and will face trial, while one soldier has yet to appear for his court-martial.
