Senior Israeli Military Official Condemns Serious Disciplinary Incident at Sde Teyman Base

A senior Israeli military official has described a recent disciplinary incident at the Sde Teyman base as severe and unacceptable within the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). The incident involved over 100 soldiers from the Givati Brigade's Sabra Battalion, who left the base without their weapons after their commander broke morale boards known as "pogim" in front of them. This act led the soldiers and commanders to abandon the base with only their personal belongings, leaving their military equipment behind, which was later secured in a container.

The official acknowledged the sacrifices made by the soldiers, emphasizing that all members of the battalion, from the commander to the last soldier, have risked their lives in various combat zones. However, he stressed that such a serious disciplinary breach has no place in the IDF. He added that the matter will be addressed by commanders with both respect and high, uncompromising standards.
