IDF Reports Many Soldiers Return to Base After Disciplinary Incident at Sde Teyman

A senior Israeli military official stated that many soldiers involved in a recent disciplinary incident at the Sde Teyman base have already returned, with a full situation report expected soon. The event, which involved over 100 fighters from the Givati Brigade's Segev Battalion, saw soldiers leave the base without their weapons after their commander broke morale plaques symbolizing unit spirit.

The incident began when the battalion commander shattered the "pugim," metal plates bearing morale slogans, provoking dozens of soldiers and commanders to depart the base with only their personal belongings. The weapons were secured separately in containers. Soldiers described the plaques as important symbols of their unit's heritage and morale, passed down through generations and especially meaningful after extended combat in Gaza and Lebanon.

Military leadership condemned the event as a serious disciplinary breach, emphasizing that while the soldiers risked their lives in combat, such conduct is unacceptable within the IDF.
