IDF Sentences Four More Soldiers to Prison Over Givati Brigade Mutiny

Disciplinary proceedings concluded on Tuesday against four additional soldiers involved in a rare mutiny at the Givati Brigade's Tzabar Battalion. The incident occurred when dozens of soldiers left the Sde Teyman base without authorization after orders were given to remove signs and symbols linked to the unit's veteran traditions. Three of the soldiers, identified as leaders of the event, were sentenced to 30 days in military prison, while a fourth, who was on leave during the trial, received a 20-day sentence. All four will be discharged from combat roles and immediately reassigned out of combat service.

Earlier, 14 other soldiers deemed leaders of the mutiny were sentenced to 30 days imprisonment and also removed from combat duties. Numerous other participants faced command and educational measures. The mutiny was triggered by the battalion commanders' directive to dismantle a site displaying veteran-related symbols, which led to the mass unauthorized departure from the base. Most soldiers eventually returned to the base following the incident.
