IDF Concludes Trials for Givati Brigade Mutiny, Sentences Issued to Leading Soldiers

Following the recent mutiny by soldiers of the Givati Brigade's Sabra Battalion at Field Yemen base, the brigade commander, Brigadier General Netanel Shamka, initiated trials against dozens of soldiers involved in the incident. The Israel Defense Forces confirmed on Friday that these trials have concluded and disciplinary measures have been imposed on those who led the rebellion.

According to the decision, 14 leading soldiers were sentenced to 30 days of imprisonment, removed from combat duties, and reassigned from frontline service. Approximately 80 other soldiers who left the base but later returned will undergo a command and educational process alongside their commanders this coming Saturday. This program aims to reinforce discipline, values, and the expected standards of IDF soldiers.

Additionally, two leading soldiers who turned themselves in overnight will face trial in the near future. Another soldier involved in the mutiny has yet to appear for trial, with a decision regarding his case pending.
