Israeli Police Arrest Car Theft Suspect After High-Speed Chase and Vehicle Ram in Kiryat Yearim

In Kiryat Yearim (Telzstone), Jerusalem district police officers from the Harel station apprehended a suspect involved in a car theft following a dramatic pursuit. The suspect was first spotted driving a stolen vehicle and initiated a dangerous escape that endangered both officers and bystanders. During the chase, the suspect rammed two police vehicles in an attempt to evade capture, which caused the stolen car to stall.

After the vehicle stopped, the suspect fled on foot, prompting officers to continue the pursuit on foot and fire shots aimed at stopping him. The suspect was eventually found and arrested, sustaining minor injuries from the gunfire. Concurrently, police received reports of a civilian lightly injured by shrapnel from the gunfire, and a female officer involved in the chase was treated for minor injuries caused by the suspect's collision with the police car.

Following medical treatment, the suspect will be transferred to the Harel police station for interrogation on charges including car theft, assault on officers, and attempted escape. The police have launched a comprehensive investigation into the incident.
