Car Thieves Ram Police, Civilian Cars During Fleeing Chase in Petah Tikva

A car chase through the streets of Petah Tikva on Thursday ended with the arrest of two suspects from Kafr Qasim. The incident began when plainclothes officers from the Petah Tikva station, engaged in an initiative against a suspected car theft ring, identified the suspects attempting to flee in a stolen vehicle. When officers approached to make an arrest, the suspects initiated a chase, ramming a police car and civilian vehicles in their attempt to escape.

During the pursuit, shots were fired at the suspects' car tires in an effort to stop them. No officers were injured. The chase continued until authorities managed to halt the vehicle and apprehend the two individuals. Two vehicles were seized as part of the operation, and the suspects were taken to the Petah Tikva police station for questioning.

Commander of the Central District, Major General Amir Cohen, praised the officers for their pursuit, stating, "We will continue to fight criminal terrorism and ensure the public's safety and security." The investigation is ongoing to determine the suspects' involvement in the theft ring and the full circumstances of the incident.
