Young Driver Dies in Collision with Empty Bus Near Allenby Terminal Junction
A male driver in his early 20s was killed Friday in a road accident involving an empty bus on Route 80 near the Allenby Terminal junction. Magen David Adom (MDA) teams pronounced the young driver dead at the scene after finding him unconscious, pulseless, and not breathing, with severe multi-system trauma. Paramedic Menachem Rosk described the crash as shocking and confirmed that despite medical efforts, the driver's injuries were fatal. The bus driver, a 66-year-old man, sustained minor injuries and was treated on-site before being taken to Hadassah Mount Scopus Hospital in stable condition.
The police have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the accident. Officers from the Beqaa station, the National Traffic Unit, and road accident investigators from the Judea and Samaria district are at the scene. Due to the crash, Route 90 between Beit Hogla and Qasr al-Yahud is currently closed in both directions as the investigation continues.
