Bus Driver Dies After Vehicle Collapses During Tire Change in Havatzelet HaSharon
A fatal accident occurred Monday evening in the Nahal Sorek Regional Council area when a 46-year-old Jerusalem resident and bus driver died after the bus collapsed on him, reportedly while he was changing a tire in the settlement of Havatzelet HaSharon. At 19:40, emergency services received a report of a worker trapped under a heavy vehicle. Rescue and firefighting teams quickly arrived and conducted complex extraction operations.
After the driver was freed, paramedics and volunteers from Magen David Adom and the Hatzalah organization performed medical assessments. Due to severe injuries to his upper body, they declared him dead at the scene. Senior paramedic Meir Avivi and first responder Benjamin Greineman described the driver as unconscious and without pulse or breathing when they arrived, confirming the bus had fallen on him during the tire change.
