Young Man Dies in Collision Between Private Car and Empty Bus on Route 90 Near Jericho
A man in his early 20s was killed Friday morning in a traffic accident involving a private car and an empty bus on Route 90 near the Hogla junction in the Jericho area. The bus driver, a 66-year-old man, sustained minor injuries and was taken to Hadassah Mount Scopus Hospital.
Magen David Adom (MDA) responders arrived at the scene at 06:31 after receiving the accident report. They found the private car driver trapped, unconscious, without pulse or breathing, and suffering from multiple severe injuries. Despite medical efforts, his death was pronounced at the scene. The bus driver was treated on-site and evacuated by ambulance in stable condition.
Police from the Beqaa station, traffic division, and accident investigators are currently examining the circumstances of the crash. Due to the accident, Route 90 between Beit Hogla and Qasr al-Yahud remains closed in both directions.
