IDF Plans Response to Hezbollah Drone Attack Near Ali Taher Ridge in South Lebanon

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are preparing to respond to a Hezbollah attack involving an explosive drone launched last night at an Israeli engineering vehicle near the Ali Taher Ridge in the Israeli security zone in southern Lebanon. This attack constitutes a clear violation of the ceasefire agreement with Lebanon. The IDF has identified Hezbollah's tunnel networks in the Ali Taher Ridge area as potential targets and is awaiting approval from the political echelon and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu before taking action.

In recent hours, the IDF has conducted situation assessments and prepared several response options, including operations previously postponed due to regional escalations and requests from the U.S. administration to avoid diverting attention to the Lebanese front while tensions with Iran were high. An Israeli official told Kan News that Israel reserves the right to respond under the ceasefire agreement, which permits action against Hezbollah if it breaches the truce.

Chief of Staff Aviv Kochavi visited southern Lebanon today alongside Northern Command Chief Major General Rafi Milo, 91st Division Commander Brigadier General Yuval Gaz, and other senior officers. Kochavi stated, "We are prepared for any change in the situation. In Lebanon, we have captured territory and are clearing it of terror infrastructure. If required, we will deepen our operations and reach additional areas. The IDF is responsible for security and will not withdraw from captured areas until long-term security is ensured."

Earlier, the IDF spokesperson confirmed the Hezbollah drone attack near Ali Taher Ridge, emphasizing that no Israeli soldiers were injured. The incident is regarded as a blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement by Hezbollah.
