IDF Confirms Hezbollah Drone Attack on Engineering Vehicle in Southern Lebanon

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that Hezbollah launched an explosive drone attack overnight targeting an Israeli engineering vehicle in the Ali Tahar ridge area of southern Lebanon. No Israeli soldiers were injured in the incident, which the IDF described as a blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement with Lebanon by the terrorist organization Hezbollah.

The attack occurred in the vicinity of the "Yellow Line," where IDF's 36th Division forces are stationed. The IDF stated that its troops continue to operate in the ridge area and will prevent militants from carrying out terrorist activities against Israeli forces. In recent weeks, Hezbollah has frequently deployed drones for intelligence gathering, but this appears to be the first use of an explosive drone against Israeli equipment since the ceasefire.

Additionally, the IDF reported that soldiers from Battalion 601 and the Combat Engineering Corps under Brigade 401 of the 91st Division destroyed an underground Hezbollah command post in the village of Khadata within the Israeli-controlled security zone. The tunnel system was approximately 55 meters long, included three living chambers, and was located beneath a building producing construction materials about 300 meters from a UNIFIL facility. The site also contained a shaft with dozens of weapons.

The IDF emphasized its commitment to neutralizing threats against its forces and preventing Hezbollah from harming Israeli civilians. The incident highlights ongoing tensions and violations despite the ceasefire in southern Lebanon.
