IDF Confirms Hezbollah Drone Attack on Engineering Vehicle in Southern Lebanon

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) officially confirmed on Wednesday that a Hezbollah-launched explosive drone targeted an IDF engineering vehicle in southern Lebanon near the Ali Tahar ridge. The attack occurred overnight, and no Israeli soldiers were injured. The IDF described the incident as a blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement with Hezbollah in Lebanon.

The IDF stated that its forces continue to operate in the ridge area and will prevent militants from carrying out terrorist activities against Israeli troops. This incident is under investigation to determine if the damage to the engineering vehicle was caused by the drone attack. It marks the first known Hezbollah attack on Israeli forces in southern Lebanon since the ceasefire and the IDF's pilot withdrawal from the area.

Earlier on the same day, the IDF's reconnaissance unit 'Shahaf' (Unit 869) identified a suspicious individual near Ras Baida who approached in a threatening manner. Soldiers from Brigade 55 fired warning shots to deter the individual, and when he continued advancing and ignored commands, they fired to neutralize the threat.
