Israeli Security Forces Arrest West Bank Vigilante Suspected of Assaulting Palestinians in Hawara

Video footage from the scene showed the suspect wearing Israeli military uniform and armed with an M16 rifle and a pistol, violently punching a Palestinian. The Israel Defense Forces condemned the actions as severe violations of military values, stating such incidents undermine regional security and distract from counterterrorism efforts. Police investigators, accompanied by IDF troops, collected evidence at the scene and identified the suspect, who was found with weapons during the arrest and taken for interrogation.

Authorities plan to request an extension of his detention to complete the investigation. Several other suspects have been arrested previously in connection with the case, and one indictment has already been filed.
