Israeli Police Arrest West Bank Resident for Violent Assault on Palestinians in Hawara
Israeli police have arrested a man in his twenties from the Samaria region, who is also a member of a local security team, on suspicion of violently assaulting Palestinians in the West Bank town of Hawara earlier this month. The suspect was captured on video wearing an IDF uniform and armed with an M16 rifle and a pistol during the attacks. Several victims required hospital treatment due to their injuries. The suspect had been evading capture for the past month but was apprehended this morning by detectives from the inter-agency command in the Judea and Samaria district, alongside Border Police and Shin Bet operatives. The weapons found in his possession were confiscated by authorities.
