Greek Coast Guard Arrests Four Israelis on Yacht with Large Drug Cache

Greek authorities detained eight tourists, including four Israeli citizens, last week following an intelligence-led operation on a private catamaran near the island of Lefkada. The Greek Coast Guard conducted a thorough search at the port of Prigiali on the island's eastern shore, in the presence of a judicial representative. During the search, they discovered a significant quantity of drugs: over 55 grams of cannabis, approximately 10 grams of crystalline MDMA, more than a dozen ecstasy pills, and about 8 grams of cocaine packaged in nylon bags.

In addition to the drugs, authorities seized around 7,000 euros in cash, additional funds in various currencies including Israeli shekels, as well as mobile phones and a laptop. The catamaran itself was confiscated alongside the narcotics. The other detained tourists were nationals of Turkey, Italy, Spain, and Latvia. The arrests followed prior intelligence that prompted the targeted operation by the Greek Coast Guard.
