Greek Coast Guard Arrests Four Israelis and Four Tourists with Drugs on Lefkada Yacht

Greek authorities arrested eight tourists, including four Israeli citizens, last week following a targeted search on a private catamaran near Lefkada island. The operation, conducted by the Greek Coast Guard at the port of Prigiali on the island's eastern shore, was based on prior intelligence. During the search, officials found over 55 grams of cannabis, approximately 10 grams of crystalline MDMA, more than a dozen ecstasy pills, and about 8 grams of cocaine packaged in nylon bags.

Alongside the drugs, authorities confiscated the catamaran, roughly 7,000 euros in cash, additional currency including Israeli shekels, mobile phones, and a laptop. The other four detainees were tourists from Turkey, Italy, Spain, and Latvia. The search was carried out in the presence of a judicial representative to ensure legal compliance. The arrests and seizures were reported by local media on July 28, 2026, with images showing the Greek Coast Guard's involvement.
