Greek Coast Guard Arrests Four Israelis with Drugs on Private Catamaran Near Lefkada Island
The Greek Coast Guard detained eight foreign nationals, including four Israelis, on Tuesday after discovering suspected drugs aboard a private catamaran near the eastern shore of Lefkada Island. The arrest followed intelligence that led authorities to the vessel. Onboard, officials found over 55 grams of cannabis, 10 grams of crystalline methamphetamine (MDMA), more than 8 grams of cocaine packets, and dozens of ecstasy and unidentified blue pills. Authorities also seized cash totaling 7,000 euros in three different currencies, along with mobile phones and a laptop. The Israeli International Police Department received details of the arrest from Greek authorities within the last 24 hours. Besides the four Israelis, four other individuals from Turkey, Italy, Spain, and Latvia were also arrested.
