Israeli Woman Severely Attacked After Confronting Man Filming Minors at Pool

Sarite Boaron was violently assaulted by a stranger after she confronted him for filming her underage relatives at a pool. In an interview on the program "HaOlam HaBoker," Boaron described the brutal attack that left her with serious injuries, including a broken nose and bruised face. She recounted the assailant's extreme aggression, saying, "He was so aggressive I cannot describe it in words," and detailed how he punched her twice in the face and struck her shoulder.

Boaron also criticized the police response at the scene, calling it a failure. She alleged that while she was injured and bleeding, a police officer delayed her ambulance evacuation to obtain her testimony. "He held me back and wouldn’t let me leave until he took my statement," she said. She further claimed that the police did not collect any evidence or photograph the scene, with only her family documenting the incident. The rapid release of the attacker by the same officer added to her sense of injustice.

Beyond the physical harm, Boaron expressed deep disappointment and loss of trust in law enforcement. She described feeling helpless and abandoned by those meant to protect her, highlighting the absurdity of being interrogated inside the ambulance instead of receiving urgent medical care. "The fact that an officer questioned me in the ambulance and did not accompany me to the hospital is also a failure," she stated.

The Israel Police responded that officers arrived promptly, opened an investigation, collected testimonies and evidence, and examined claims from both sides, which included mutual accusations of assault. They said the complainant gave an initial statement without delaying her medical treatment. After investigation, all involved parties were released under restrictive conditions, including a restraining order. The investigation is ongoing.
