Young Man Assaulted with Batons After Dispute with Israeli Prison Service Officer

A young man from Kfar Yona was hospitalized with a head injury following an altercation with a female Israeli Prison Service (IPS) officer. According to suspicions, the officer allegedly sent her sister and friends to assault the man with batons. Video footage from the incident shows the sister and her companions stopping their vehicle in the middle of the road, vigorously beating the young man with batons and damaging his car.

The IPS stated that the incident was a private matter unrelated to the officer's official duties. The officer was questioned under caution and released after the investigation. Concurrently, the IPS is conducting a disciplinary review of the officer's conduct and will take appropriate measures based on the findings. The IPS emphasized its expectation that all personnel uphold legal and behavioral standards both on and off duty.
