Young Man Severely Attacked Over Road Dispute in Northern Israel Village

A violent assault on a 25-year-old man in a village in the northern Israeli valleys stemmed from a dispute over right of way on a narrow road. The incident occurred on July 15 at a car wash, where the victim was attacked by three young men armed with bats and a knife. According to Sergeant Major Mohassen Dagash, head of the youth team at the Valley District Police, the attackers brutally beat the man, causing life-threatening injuries including deep cuts and torn tendons in his arm. The victim was hospitalized for five days and underwent multiple surgeries to save his hand.

Police investigations revealed that the attackers lived in the same neighborhood as the victim and initially denied the assault, admitting only to a scuffle. One later confessed to stabbing. The motive was linked to a prior argument between the suspects and the victim's brother over who should yield on a narrow village road. Unable to confront the brother, the suspects targeted the victim in retaliation.

The Northern District Prosecutor's Office has filed charges against the suspects. Defense attorney Wisam Lidaoui, representing two of the accused, stated they are normal youths with no criminal record who did not plan the attack and denied any assault, demanding their unconditional release. Sergeant Major Dagash condemned the incident, calling it shocking that a trivial road dispute nearly ended in murder.
