Netanya Driver Assaulted Violently in Front of His Children After Road Dispute
A man in his 20s from Netanya was arrested on Monday for violently attacking another driver near the city's beachfront following a road dispute. According to the police investigation, the incident occurred about a week ago and escalated from an argument between the two drivers. The suspect damaged the victim's car by smashing a window and slashing a tire with a sharp object, all while the victim's children were inside the vehicle witnessing the attack. The assault was captured on dashcam footage from nearby vehicles and road cameras.
This case is part of a broader trend of severe road violence in Israel. Just a month ago, Mohamed Mahajna was convicted for severely assaulting a motorcyclist in Umm al-Fahm after criticizing his fiancée's driving. Mahajna chased the motorcyclist, forced him to stop, and struck him on the head with a baton, causing the victim permanent brain damage and severe disability. Authorities continue to address the rising incidents of aggressive behavior on the roads.
