Family Assaulted After Confronting Man Filming Minors at Ashdod Pool

A family gathering in Ashdod turned violent last week after a man repeatedly filmed the family's underage daughters in swimsuits by a private pool. The man, approximately 60 years old, and his son had been visiting a neighbor nearby and took photos of the family members, including two girls aged 14 and 15. When the family first asked him to stop, he ignored them and pretended not to understand Hebrew. After police were called, the man fled before officers arrived.

The incident escalated again the following weekend when the family confronted the man, demanding he delete the photos. The confrontation turned physical when the man punched the woman's brother and then her 16-year-old son as he tried to intervene. The woman, Sarit, also stepped in and was violently attacked. She described severe injuries including five open fractures in her nose and a displaced bone, caused by a punch that broke her face. Sarit also recounted the man tearing a necklace that was a keepsake from her father.

The family criticized the police response, claiming officers showed indifference and delayed medical evacuation despite Sarit's heavy bleeding. They also alleged the man used the opportunity to delete the photos from his device while police were present. The Israeli police stated they arrived promptly, collected testimonies, and released the suspects under restrictive conditions including a restraining order. The investigation is ongoing to clarify the facts.
