Man Films and Assaults Family Over Pool Photos in Ashdod, Police Investigate

A family gathering in Ashdod turned violent last week after a man repeatedly filmed underage girls in swimsuits at a private pool and attacked family members who confronted him. The incident began when a man in his 60s and his son, visiting a neighbor nearby, took photos of the family’s daughters aged 14 to 15 without permission. When asked to stop, the man initially ignored the requests and pretended not to understand Hebrew. After police were called, the man fled before officers arrived.

The harassment resumed the following weekend, escalating into physical violence. When the family demanded the man delete the photos, he assaulted the sister and her 16-year-old son. The woman, Sarit, intervened and was severely beaten, suffering five open fractures in her nose and a displaced bone, describing the attack as brutal and bloody. The attacker also tore her necklace, a keepsake from her father.

The family criticized the police response, alleging indifference and delayed arrival despite early calls for help. They claim officers refused immediate medical evacuation for Sarit despite her heavy bleeding, and that the attacker deleted the photos while police were present. The police confirmed an investigation is ongoing, stating all parties were released under restrictive conditions including restraining orders, and that evidence and testimonies are being collected to clarify the incident.

This case highlights concerns over privacy violations, violence, and police handling of domestic disputes in Ashdod. The investigation continues as authorities seek to determine the full circumstances and hold those responsible accountable.
