Haifa Woman Arrested for Allegedly Defrauding Holocaust Survivor of Thousands via Credit Card

Police in Haifa arrested a 54-year-old local woman suspected of orchestrating a sophisticated scam against a Holocaust survivor in her 90s. The suspect allegedly stole the victim's credit card during a joint trip and later visited her home under the pretense of conducting medical tests. During this visit, she reportedly stole additional property from the elderly woman. Subsequently, the suspect is accused of making purchases totaling thousands of shekels using the stolen credit card.

The investigation began several days ago after the survivor reported suspicions of fraud. Haifa police detectives located and detained the suspect, who was found to be under electronic monitoring at the time and allegedly violated the terms during the commission of these offenses. Authorities plan to request an extension of her detention from the Haifa Magistrate's Court to continue the investigation and gather further evidence.
