Haifa Woman Arrested for Allegedly Defrauding Holocaust Survivor of Thousands of Shekels

A 54-year-old woman from Haifa was arrested on suspicion of defrauding a Holocaust survivor in her 90s by stealing her credit card and property. According to police, the suspect initially took the victim's credit card during a shared car ride and later visited her home under the pretext of conducting medical tests, where she allegedly stole additional belongings. Afterward, the suspect used the stolen credit card to make purchases totaling thousands of shekels. Following her arrest, authorities discovered that the woman was under electronic monitoring, which she reportedly violated during the commission of these offenses. The police announced they will request an extension of her detention at the Haifa Magistrate's Court to continue their investigation.
