Teen Arrested After Alleged Robbery and Assault of 78-Year-Old Woman in Haifa
Police arrested a teenager on suspicion of assaulting and robbing a 78-year-old woman in Haifa’s Kiryat Eliezer neighborhood. The incident took place on Thursday and drew attention after footage circulated on social media.
In the video, the suspect, who appeared to be wearing a school shirt, is seen following the woman, snatching her bag, and then struggling with her when she tried to resist. During the fight, she fell and was injured.
Medical teams were called to the scene, treated the woman, and evacuated her to a hospital in the city with light injuries. Over the weekend, police arrested the teenager, questioned him, and jailed him.
Police said they will seek to extend his detention depending on the findings of the investigation.
