Israel Faces Rising Temperatures and Increasing Heat Stress Through End of July

Starting today, Israel will experience partly cloudy to clear skies with a slight rise in temperatures, especially in the mountainous and inland areas, leading to a mild increase in heat stress. On Wednesday, July 29, after morning clouds dissipate, clear skies will prevail with further temperature increases, particularly inland and in the mountains, where conditions will be hotter and drier than usual. Coastal areas will remain more comfortable, but heat stress will intensify.

Thursday, July 30, will see another slight temperature rise, with hot to very hot conditions expected in the mountains and inland regions, while the coastal plain remains pleasant. Most parts of the country will face heavy to extreme heat stress. On Friday, July 31, the weather will generally be clear, with continued hot to very hot temperatures inland and in the mountains, and comfortable conditions along the coast. Heavy to extreme heat stress will persist across most areas.

Temperature forecasts for key cities include Tel Aviv-Jaffa at 24° to 30°C, Haifa 24° to 31°C, Jerusalem 22° to 31°C, Ashdod 23° to 31°C, Beersheba 20° to 34°C, Ashkelon 23° to 29°C, Mitzpe Ramon 20° to 30°C, and Afula 24° to 35°C. Residents and visitors are advised to prepare for increasing heat and take precautions against heat-related health risks in the coming days.
