Maccabi Tel Aviv Extends Guard Iffe Lundberg's Contract for Three Years

After weeks of negotiations, Maccabi Tel Aviv has secured the contract extension of Danish guard Iffe Lundberg for three more years. The 32-year-old, who joined the team last season under coach Oded Katash, will earn $2 million per season. Despite receiving other offers, Lundberg chose to stay due to his strong role in the team and his affinity for Israel.

Lundberg expressed enthusiasm about continuing with Maccabi, highlighting the opportunity to fulfill his potential and compete for the EuroLeague title. Club chairman Shimon Mizrahi emphasized that Lundberg's signing reinforces the club's principle of continuity. Coach Oded Katash praised Lundberg as an experienced leader who has integrated well with the team and staff.

Lundberg overcame several injuries last season and delivered solid performances, averaging 11.0 points and 3.6 assists in the EuroLeague. In the Israeli league, he averaged 10.5 points and 3.8 assists during the regular season, elevating his game in the playoffs with 14.1 points, 5.1 assists, and 3.3 rebounds, helping Maccabi clinch the championship.
