Maccabi Tel Aviv Negotiates New Contract with Guard Shai'fa Lundberg

Shai'fa Lundberg, the 31-year-old Polish guard who significantly impacted Maccabi Tel Aviv's recent season, is in advanced contract negotiations with the club. Lundberg, who played a key role in the team's double championship victory last season, initially demanded $10 million for three years, a figure the club found too high. However, after resuming talks, Lundberg has lowered his asking price to around $2 million per season, a more feasible amount for Maccabi Tel Aviv. The club highly values Lundberg and hopes to retain him for the upcoming season under coach Oded Katash. Lundberg's performance last season included averages of 11.0 points and 3.6 assists in the EuroLeague, and in the domestic league, he averaged 10.5 points and 3.8 assists during the regular season. He elevated his game in the playoffs, contributing 14.1 points, 5.1 assists, and 3.3 rebounds, helping lead the team to the championship.
