Maccabi Tel Aviv Extends Guard Iffe Lundberg's Contract for Three Years

After weeks of negotiations, Maccabi Tel Aviv has secured the contract extension of guard Iffe Lundberg for three more years. The 32-year-old Danish player, who joined the team last season under coach Oded Katash, will earn $2 million per season. Despite having multiple offers, Lundberg chose to stay due to his strong role in the team and his affinity for Israel.

Lundberg expressed excitement about continuing with Maccabi, emphasizing his commitment to helping the team compete for the EuroLeague title. Club chairman Shimon Mizrahi highlighted Lundberg's signing as a key part of the club's continuity strategy. Coach Oded Katash praised Lundberg as an experienced leader who has integrated well with the team and staff.

Lundberg overcame several injuries last season and delivered strong performances, averaging 11.0 points and 3.6 assists in the EuroLeague. In the Israeli league, he averaged 10.5 points and 3.8 assists during the regular season, then elevated his game in the playoffs with 14.1 points, 5.1 assists, and 3.3 rebounds, helping Maccabi clinch the championship.
