Maccabi Tel Aviv Extends Guard Efe Lundberg's Contract for Two More Seasons

After weeks of uncertainty and prolonged negotiations, Maccabi Tel Aviv and Danish guard Efe Lundberg have reached an agreement for him to continue with the team for the next two seasons. Lundberg, who was the MVP of the recent finals series against Hapoel Tel Aviv, saw a significant breakthrough in talks recently as the gaps between the parties narrowed, leading to the contract extension.

The 32-year-old Lundberg had received several offers from other teams during the negotiation period but ultimately chose to remain with Maccabi Tel Aviv. His decision was influenced by the prominent role he holds under coach Oded Katash and his strong connection to Israel and the club. Despite suffering several injuries throughout the season, Lundberg was a key player for the team.

In the EuroLeague, he averaged 11 points and 3.6 assists per game. In the Israeli Premier League, he posted solid numbers with 10.5 points and 3.8 assists on average during the regular season. Lundberg elevated his performance in the playoffs, contributing significantly to Maccabi Tel Aviv's championship win with averages of 14.1 points, 5.1 assists, and 3.3 rebounds per game.
