Maccabi Tel Aviv Secures Guard Ife Lundberg, Targets Center and Guard Reinforcements

Maccabi Tel Aviv announced the retention of point guard Ife Lundberg, who joined the team during last season and became a free agent. This move brings the roster closer to completion ahead of the upcoming season, though key gaps remain, especially at the center position. The club continues to seek a senior center after Rishon Holmes declined an offer. In July, Maccabi pursued Partizan Belgrade center Bruno Fernando. Shane Hunter, who recently finished a loan spell in the Polish league, may remain with Maccabi but cannot be registered alongside Will Rayman due to foreign player limits. Since Rayman has played four of the last five seasons in Israel, the team might appeal to an exceptions committee to register both players simultaneously.

Additionally, Maccabi plans to strengthen the guard position amid the likely departure of Loni Walker. Candidates include free agents Shae Milton and Jamir Young, who played last season for Partizan Belgrade and Miami, respectively. The projected roster by position includes point guards Yam Madar, Ife Lundberg, and Jimmy Clark; shooting guards John DiBartolomeo and Amit Abo; small forwards Bonzi Colson, Oshae Brissett, and Will Rayman; power forwards Jalen Hood, TJ Leaf, and Gur Lavi; and centers Roman Sorkin and Shane Hunter.
