Motorcyclist Killed in Hit-and-Run Near Yokneam; Suspect Arrested
A 26-year-old motorcycle rider was killed overnight between Thursday and Friday in a hit-and-run crash near Yokneam in northern Israel. The driver of the striking vehicle fled the scene, but police said he was arrested shortly afterward.
According to the police statement, a burning car was found near the crash site. Investigators suspect the driver set the vehicle on fire in an attempt to destroy evidence.
MDA senior medic Zohar Ratzbi said responders found the rider lying on the roadside, unconscious, without a pulse or breathing, and with very severe injuries. “We performed medical checks, but unfortunately his injuries were so serious that we could only pronounce him dead,” he said.
