US Embassy in Jerusalem Warns of Rising Organized Crime Violence in Israel

The US Embassy in Jerusalem issued an unusual warning to American citizens in Israel on Wednesday, highlighting a sharp increase in violence linked to rival organized crime groups. The embassy specifically pointed to escalating clashes between the Musli and Jarushi crime factions, which have recently targeted branches of the "Jafnika" chain with grenade attacks.

According to the embassy, these assaults have been directed at businesses and homes associated with the rival groups, primarily in the Tel Aviv, Jaffa, and Herzliya areas. The attacks often involved assailants on motorcycles throwing hand grenades or stun grenades at private residences, vehicles, and commercial properties.

In response to the surge in violence, Israeli police have launched enforcement operations aimed at disrupting the criminal organizations and arresting those responsible for the attacks. The embassy emphasized it is closely monitoring the situation and advised Americans in Israel to remain vigilant.
