A recent investigation revealed that Hamas has established an extensive terror network across several European countries, including Greece, Cyprus, Denmark, and Germany. Intelligence sources disclosed that these cells planned attacks against Jewish and Israeli targets, with one plot involving a possible attack on an Israeli cruise ship docked in Greece. The findings were published by the Swiss newspaper Neue Zürcher Zeitung on Monday.

A key breakthrough occurred in Greece, where authorities arrested a suspect after discovering bomb-making materials linked to a planned attack on an Israeli cruise ship. Additional arrests and operations in Germany, Denmark, and Austria uncovered weapons caches, explosives, and maps of potential targets. The network used sophisticated smuggling routes to transport firearms and ammunition through Scandinavia and Germany into central Europe.

Security officials explained that Hamas operatives built this logistical infrastructure over several years, recruiting and training members globally while disguising their activities under the cover of lawful residents or asylum seekers. The cells received direct orders from senior commanders in Hamas’s military wing in the Middle East and prepared to carry out large-scale attacks against Jewish, Israeli, and American targets.

This revelation challenges the previous assumption that Hamas’s operations were confined to Israel and the Middle East, highlighting a broader threat to European security. The uncovered plots appear linked to the aftermath of the October 7 massacre, indicating an expansion of Hamas’s terror activities beyond its traditional zones of operation.
